One Big Walk with Big Hearts: Ghostbusters NI at Stormont

On a bright and breezy Saturday, the grounds of Stormont Estate echoed with footsteps, laughter, and the unmistakable hum of proton packs as Ghostbusters Northern Ireland proudly took part in the One Big Walk — a 12-hour sponsored relay in support of the Northern Ireland Hospice and Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice.

This wasn’t just any walk. It was a marathon of compassion, community, and cosplay, where every step helped raise vital funds for two incredible causes that support families across Northern Ireland. From dawn till dusk, teams rotated through the relay, keeping the momentum alive and spirits high.

Our squad was out in full force, suited up and ready to bust fatigue with smiles and high-fives for fellow walkers. We were especially thrilled to be joined by three fantastic members of the Crossrip Response Unit from Dublin, who made the journey north to walk alongside us. Their energy, camaraderie, and shared love for all things Ghostbusters added an extra spark to the day — and a few extra selfies for fans who spotted the cross-border collaboration!

Throughout the day, we cheered on participants, posed for photos, and even helped entertain younger walkers with a few ghost-catching demonstrations (no Class 5 full roaming vapors spotted, but we stayed vigilant). The event was a beautiful reminder of how fandom can fuel real-world impact — turning passion into purpose.

Whether you walked, donated, or simply waved as we passed by, thank you for supporting the Northern Ireland Hospice and Children’s Hospice. These organisations provide essential care and comfort to those who need it most, and we’re honoured to have played a small part in their mission.

Until next time — keep walking, keep busting, and keep believing in the power of community.
