Welcome to the cadet section of Ghostbusters Northern Ireland

Welcome to the Cadet Section of the Ghostbusters Northern Ireland!

Are you between 11 and 17 years old and ready to embark on an adventure of a lifetime? Then you’re in the right place! Our cadet members enjoy the thrill of participating in almost all the events that our senior members do. But it’s not just about the excitement; it’s about the friendships you’ll forge along the way—friendships that could last a lifetime.

At every event, safety and support are our top priorities, which is why a parent or guardian must accompany each cadet. It’s all about having fun and learning in a secure environment.

Don’t have a Ghostbusters outfit yet? No worries! We’re here to guide you through the world of cosplay. We’ll point you in the right direction and advise you on the best gear to get—and what to avoid. So, gear up and get ready to join the ranks of the Ghostbusters cadets!

Remember, being a Ghostbuster is more than just wearing a cool costume; it’s about teamwork, courage, and facing the unknown with a smile. So, if you’re ready to make new friends and create unforgettable memories, we can’t wait to welcome you to our team. Let’s show the ghosts who’s boss!

Do I have to be a Ghostbuster ?

No, you don’t have to cosplay as a Ghostbuster, but you need to be Ghostbusters related. If you want to do a variant of a Ghostbuster, that’s ok, or if you want to cosplay as one of the characters from the Ghostbusters universe, that is ok also.

If you are wanting to cosplay as a villain, we do ask that it is a villain from the Ghostbusters universe.

Do I need a high end cosplay outfit

No, we do not expect our Cadets to spend the sort of money that our senior members do on their outfits. We can help in sourcing cheaper options if need be, or guide you in the right direction.

Some of our Cadet members make amazing things from cardboard which look awesome when out on a troop.

what age do i have to be to join

Cadets are aged from 11 to 17, and when they turn 18 they graduate to be a senior member automatically.

As Cadet members are under 18, we do ask that a parent to guardian is present with them at all events.

do I have to attend every event?

No, we do not ask our members to attend every trooping, con or social event.

We do ask for a minimum of one event every six months, however all circumstances are taken into account if this is not met.

How long does it take to join?

All members are asked to take part in 1 event or socials before their application to join is approved.

This is to make sure that the potential member and the rest of the group are a good fit for each other and that everyone gets along.

Friendship is the core part of our group.
