Ghostbusters Northern Ireland traces its origins back to a fateful encounter at Q-Con in Belfast during the vibrant summer of 2022. There, Mark and David, both donning proton packs and fueled by their shared love for the iconic franchise, decided to form something more than just a cosplay group. They envisioned a community—a place where fellow Ghostbusters enthusiasts could unite, swap stories of spectral encounters, and celebrate their collective obsession.

In 2023, we took a bold step forward by launching our Cadet Program, welcoming young members aged 11 to 17 into our ranks. These budding paranormal investigators learned the ropes, honed their slime-slinging skills, and became an integral part of our growing family.

Our breakthrough moment arrived at Comic Con Northern Ireland in September 2023. The proton packs and props were out on display at the Eikon Center, and our jumpsuit-clad crew turned heads. The response was overwhelming—a huge success that echoed through the halls of the Eikon Centre in Lisburn. From that point on, we soared like a proton stream, becoming the largest Ghostbusters franchise on the island of Ireland and one of the UK’s most prominent.

So here’s to our past, our present, and our future—where every day feels like a scene straight out of the movies. We’re not just busting ghosts; we’re building lasting friendships and creating memories that will echo across dimensions. Who you gonna call? At Ghostbusters Northern Ireland, our proton packs aren’t just for show—they’re also powerful tools for making a positive impact. Our main charity partner is the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice, an organization that provides essential care and support to children with life-limiting conditions and their families. We’re passionate about their mission, and at every event we attend, we channel our ghostbusting energy into raising funds for this vital cause.

But that’s not all. We believe in spreading the love beyond our own spectral realm. Through our initiative called Charity Support, we stand shoulder-to-shoulder with other groups and individuals who are championing their own charitable endeavors. Whether it’s a local bake sale, a marathon, or a community event, we’re there, lending our jumpsuit-clad support and encouraging donations.

As a non-profit group, every penny we raise goes directly toward making a difference. We don’t charge for our appearances—our reward is knowing that we’ve contributed to something greater. And if, by chance, someone owes us payment for an appearance, we kindly request that they redirect it as a donation to the NI Children’s Hospice. Because when it comes to battling ghosts and supporting our community, we’re all in this together.
